Just worked it out.
Even though inetd, and inetd.conf are setup, it does not install the
telnet-server and ftp server packages. The inetd.conf makes a reference to
'/usr/sbin/tcpd' which has an argument of in.telnetd and in.ftpd and I
thought that was ok.
The way to debug it was that it was writing the error message to
"/var/log/secure" and not to "/var/log/messages" with the problem (grumble,
grumble...)
Now, installed those packages and it works ok.
Thanks to everyone.
I also realised that I have dud CD. "draxtools*rpm" is corrupted and thus
DrakConf did not install.
Can anyone be kind enough to send me this rpm by direct mail
