Okay .. right .. the > character is not a standard or anything but everyone
seems to use it .. I wonder how reliable it is. How about signatures ? Any
major reason for using lines over bytes ? Some lines break at 80 characters, 40
.. and some dont break at all .. does it actually count CRs and LFs ? 

Huh ! 

It's not a bad thing, interactively post the stats on a page and dont mention
it on the page ... it's good .. there are many theories behind it but it does
encourage posting (slightly) .. such systems have been around for a while and
do their job well when it comes to encouragement .. Slashdot's 
Karma .. 

Especially with the following: E2's XPs, SETI and Distributed.net teams etc .. 

I'm not sure if that's relevent .. keep up the good work coders Slug coders :)
