yes; this whole "size of distro" argument is pretty silly. Different
distributions suggest different subsets of what's available in order
to satisfy particular different groups of users (their "market" ;).

Apart from bundled proprietary products (which are always optional
-- someone please correct me if I'm wrong there), it's all the same
free software, distributed differently.

Could the debian weenies please refrain from on one hand saying
"Debian's best because it has the most packages and architectures"
and on the other saying "it's the best because it takes up the least
amount of space".

This issue is all about making it easy for users to select which
software they need. Most distros do that pretty well.

yes. Many Linux retail vendors are already doing this for most
distros -- certainly Cetus and EverythingLinux do this. I expect
Debian 2.2 will shortly also do the rounds of magazines and
homewares stores etc.
