IIRC, cfdisk doesn't show up extended partitions... maybe because it's
newbie friendly and doesn't want to confuse new users (and wants to
confuse old users).  The partition is there, and as it shows the 3
logical partitions inside the extended one, I'd say that it does
recognise the extended partition.
