I'm trying to run XWindow without a mouse - when you're hooking up several
netstations, its easier to find keyboards than mouses.

In fvwm, you can press shift-ctrl-arrow to move the mouse, but I'm not aware
of keys which are mapped to the mouse buttons. Is there a way of doing
this ?

An ideal option would be to map key presses to a phantom mouse driver.
Otherwise, you'd need a "dummy mouse driver" so XWindow could start up.

I've taken a look at xkbevd; I've run it with no effect from an xterminal,
I suspect I'd have to start it from the client startup script within xinit
before the window manager starts; I'm not very familiar with how to
ensure XWindow daemons are "hooked up".

Any suggestions for known solutions or documentation to look up ?

Thanks,
