I'm trying to get a 2.2.15 kernel to run on a Bull Netstation, so I can
run a net block device on it for swap.
Problem is, the 3c503 module does not load - no device found at the
stated address, while my original 2.0.35 kernel is able to recognise
the device.
I've run scanport on the netstation with a 2.2.15 kernel, from port
0x300 the values read are : 0x22, 0x38, 0x20, 0x39, 0x3, 0x0 ...
enough for scanport to register "maybe : ??????" - that is, more than
dead space.
I could start poking around in the kernel, hacking the code to give
a better idea of its progress as it installs, and perhaps I'll have
to do this. Painful to recompile, reintegrate to a etherbootable
file, and then reboot the netstation on each cycle, however.
But ... Has anyone managed to get a Bull netstation working with a
2.2.15 kernel ? Is there a known bug ? Are there any smarter ways of
approaching the problem ?
Thanks,
