Are you using the module which loaded with the previous kernel?
If so, you might have a version problem, ie the module version and
the version of your kernel dont match and it will fail to load.
What is the error message?
Use the "-f" option (I have never had a need to use it) of "insmod"
to get a mismatched module version loaded. Or get a later version of
the module (get the code and compile it yourself)
What does "insmod -v OBJECTFILE" (OBJECTFILE being your module) return?
and do an lsmod and check whether it is REALLY not loaded .....
