Do you have your proxy talking to their proxy? Are they running a
redirector? These things you need to investigate, as they can play a lot
into it..

Try turning off proxy, and just use masquerading for a bit.. see if theres
any difference....

Masq happens in the kernel.. and requires VERY little CPU.. so if your
CPU/Machine bound by squid, doing this will show it.
