Im a linux user in SA and have been trying to solve a problem with this application, as a newbie I've only got a little experience with Windoze, and all the users over here appear to be running Red Hat which doesn't use the CUPS printing. I'm open to all comments and would like to hear if anyone is not having trouble, or if so how they might have solved it, The main problem is that when I set up the printer system in SO5.2 the printer says that it is printing and then dumps a file into the the var/spool/cups directory and that is all that happens I have been able to print out a test sheet from the mandrake printer setup and all the other applications print OK I've tried all sorts of configurations for the spadmin program as well as hand editing Xpdefaults and i've come to the conclusion that it must be a software incompatability problem between CUPS and star office 5.2, because I even loaded up RH6.2 onto a spare HDD and installed so 5.2 and had no problems printing. CUPS say on their web site that if you are having trouble see your Distributor, SUN want $19.95 US for any help and Mandrake say it is all possible, and it works well, so that leaves me with KWord and a group of "Win" freaks laughing (even though they paid ove a grand for the software that they are using).
