Is this Telstra supplied equipment? The Alcatel Speed Touch equipment I
recieved doesn't have internal WWW pages that I'm aware of, not do you need
to use DHCP.

For a start, you don't use PAP when connection to the Telstra ADSL network -
you use CHAP.
Your username should be <username>@bigpond, you password should be the one
you were provided.
Apart from that, you're on your own - I haven't used the 2.4 kernel's
ppp/pppoe support.
If you're willing to downgrade to 2.2, roaring penguin works fine.
