If a printer is defined as being suitable for Windows 3.X, Windows 95/98,
Windows NT/2000 and MacOS 8.1 does that mean it is a good printer (ie, it
might work under Linux) or is it still likely to be a braindead
Winprinter.

What makes me cautious is the statement "DOS compatible using Windows DOS
box in Windows 3.x"

BTW, its an Oki 8z
