I tryed PRINTTOOL to set up my printer. It sets up but only prints out rubbish. I 
think that my main trouble is that i'm too used to running (crawling) windoze. Is 
there another way of setting up a printer through Red Hat Linux 7.0 with GNOME?

what have you tried?
where do you get up to before you get confused?
what errors are you seeing?
