It sounds like the "author" of the "Is Linus killing Linux?" story had
already written the article (or had it written for her) and was simply
asking around various consultants and "analysts" until she got some quotes
that fitted. When a consultant, who later wrote about it on OsOpinion,
rejected her questions and rebutted her assumptions, she ignored his
input.
The original story was FUD, pure and simple. It contained deliberately
misleading statements and presented them from an invalid point of view. It
was a piece of fiction designed to instill fear, uncertainty and doubt
about Linux in those unfamiliar with it. Treat it as such.
That's all I have to say about that.
