If you got source you are going to have to configure and build it which
can be a bit of a pain because of all the dependencies. What I did is
installed Helix's Red-carpet which you use to get latest evolution
snapshots (you could use it to update or install other Gnome
applications as well). It is pretty cool as it tells you all the
dependencies needed and fatches and installs the binaries as well as
the evolution binary. I installed evolution as 'root' (ran red-carpet
as 'root') and first time you run it as 'adam' for eg. it creates
/home/adam/evolution dir.
