The post was not informative. It is simply taking sides in a discussion
that has no place on the Slug list. It is very hard for someone to be
informative on something they have picked up third hand. Posting an
analysis is nothing but a further advertisement.
Anyone is free to provide Linux training and you can have an opinion of
the training provided. There is no moral right to provide or not provide
Linux training.
1 - However, it isn't about anything in Sydney. This is something that
happened in Singapore, which we are never going to know the truth about.
There is no point in discussing it on the Slug list. Please let it rest.
Take it to Slug Chat if you can not.
2 - We do not want them to bring an old flame war to this list.
Of course you are free to disagree with me and continue posting on the
subject. If so, I will kindly invite the persons concerned to let us all
know about their views. The list has been really quite recently, it
could do with a pick up. Only 943 messages this month so far.
3 - I would personally not want Slug to have to waste money on defending
itself from libel claims in a court of law. The posts indicate that
"this matter" has involved the courts in Singapore - that indicates the
participants are willing to wave the big stick.
There are no burning rights of freedom, "free" speech, etc or anything
else involved.
I have a strong view of it because there are egos involved that we can
do without on the Slug list. I know, my mailbox was full of them on
Sunday. I know because they made an international call. The list was
saved because they had autoreply switched on and the list administrators
quickly unsubscribed them.
Please don't fan the flames.
