Well, I went from a 1500k business to a 512k freedom.
On the 1500Kbps plan, When the network isn't being flooded by weenies
leeching, you do get full datarate to telstra hosts. Handy if you
suck news or pull files from telstra hosted mirrors.
On the 512K plan I've been finding I get transfers running at the
capacity of the link... particularly from most australian sites... but
only since Telstra finished their most recent round of capacity
upgrades. Before the capacity upgrades, things were only performing
down in the 256Kbps band until late late night.
