Erk, actually, I'll apoligise now - We've been getting so many ADSL

Yes, this will work, just like any other broadband connection.
However, the specifics for cable are that you will need bpalogin. I
believe somebody has debian packaged this, but you should be able to
find it for download from cableusers.com.au. If not, try google.
