Hi again,
Further to this, I commented out some install-info lines in
/var/lib/dpkg/info/sawfish.postinst (I think) which allowed it to
continue on its happy way, no complaints. Unfortunately I can't log into
a gnome session from a gdm screen - it asks for username + password,
thinks about it, I get a bit of X screen garble and it chucks me back to
the login screen.
Not sure.
