begin David Kempe quotation:
> The thrust of said essay seems to discount that there is more than one
> way of learning.
You are mistaken.
I am rather qualified to tell you what the thrust of the essay is, being
its co-author: Its thrust is that one is more likely to get fruitful
responses from help requests on technical forums if one avoids some
readily identifiable pitfalls, and includes certain helpful data --
which it details.
I'm surprised this was not apparent from reading the piece.
> Its clear that we need to allows many different types of learners easy
> access to the knowledge they inevitably need for working with linux.
That's nice, but not relevant to the essay.
> At the price of a few stupid questions, perhaps even a flood, its worth it
> not to drive away the unwashed masses.
That's nice, but what does this have to do with my attempt to help
people get more-useful answers from technical forums?
