Win4Lin will only house Win9x (Win95 -> Win98, and from reading the scripts,
it looks like it might do Win311 too). This is a disadvantage when you want
to take part in corporate networks, etc.

If you just want to run Windows apps, it kicks the pants out of VMware for
performance and startup time - you just don't get to run random x86
operating systems for 'testing' with it. ;)

In Win4Lin's case, I have been running three sessions with the server
edition smoothly on a P450, 196MB RAM, 4GB SCSI HDD. It runs *really* nicely
on a faster machine (surprisingly, it doesn't really use a lot of RAM).

Also, version 3 allows you to use Proper Windows networking - Network
Neighbourhood and such - with the help of a little daemon in the background.
(It's a bit odd when Win4Lin sessions called <computer>-<user> start
appearing in your host lists, etc!)
