I'm not so in love with the .com system. In order to protect one of my
names I've had to register 12 variations (with trailing "s", with hyphen,
.org, .com, .net etc.), despite having registered a US trade mark to
protect myself! The net cost is much more than the australian status
quo.

I host a site which is .com ... but someone has registered a variation of
his name by simply removing a hyphen and now uses that domain name to host
XXXX porn.

I can't see the open slather .com system as being such a great idea unless
you are running a registry. They must have made a mozza from .info and
.biz

Sorry about the off-topic.
