Just can't resist the discussion... *dips hat to regulars* Been a while since I've been on this list, but decided to resign up, as my life has been a little boring. And hell I need to do some more linux hacking.

I was one of those people. I also managed to get a friend a job in the same company I worked for at the time, so he finished school and got right into a IT job. Thinking back now, I think myself of being lucky. However it wasn't easy. Still had to work at it, and I was out of work for a year after school. However that wasn't a real problem, had plenty of time to cycle. Computers for me were always a hobby, right from my early ripe old age of about 9-10yo when I got a Commodore 64. Boy things have changed since then. I still remember my parents wishing I wouldn't spend so much time on my PC back then. And as time progressed that didn't change however my systems did. But I think now, they would agree. This hobby helped me gain knowledge and also allowed me to find something I was good at. I still enjoy working with them time to time, and I guess we all have our bad days when we would love to throw it all in and go do something else. I know I have those feelings. When I got made redundant at the beginning of this year from my unix admin job with a web hosting company in Sydney, I signed up with Aust. Post to get a motorcycle postie position. I figured it would be better then sitting around on the dole, and be a change. But in the end I found work back in the industry. But hey who knows, I might always throw it in and go get another job doing something else I enjoy.
