Patently untrue. :)

Ximian GNOME is still GNOME - it just has various patches that are either:
inappropriate for mainline (Monkeytalk menus), haven't made it in yet [ um,
can't think of anything right now, I'm mostly concentrating on GNOME 2
nowadays ;) ], or are fast modifications for usability purposes (file
selection boxes).

Most of the Ximian packages are older, stable components. The Ximian preview
channel lets you use the 1.5 control centre though, which is crack. ;)
