you can't with the ORHH (now called "ISDN Home" by the way as from
1st Jan, prices are a fraction cheaper now too) you take what telstra
offers or you don't.

it's compulsory to check with your ISP - they'll have to adjust their
access server config for you, or else give you a different number to
dial in to.  Also once you get going, get your ISP to confirm for you
that you are connecting as DoV (otherwise expect a nice hefty telstra
bill if it turns out it's been a timed connection).

that seems to vary from area to area.  I know people who stay connected
for 2-4 weeks.  On the occasions when dingoblue stuff up their 12-hour
kickoff thing I've been connected over 24 hrs (28 hrs and around 36 hrs
one time).
