I'm mystified with the installation of Mandrake, and I hope there is a good
heart in your group who can help me out. My problem is:
I freed up a 12 gig HD for ML 8.1 ( it is the D:, on C: I have W2k), and
the booting sequence is CDROM/A/C.
After having received the usual congratulations when the install was
completed the computer could not restart, showing an endless series of zeroes
and ones.
The log says:
Welcome to the Mandrake Linux install (mdk-stage1, version 8.10)
Opening /proc/cmdline...

Most of it is abracadabra for me, but I understand the system is asking for
the install CD. However, I just installed it successfully. So could it be that
something in the Bios went wrong? Is an advice possible from a distance?
Thank you now already for your reply, for I'm really stuck now. Henk
