Look in /var/log/messages for a line like:
Jan 20 12:34:24 willow pppd[18615]: primary   DNS address 203.109.250.50

If you don't see anything like that, then your ISP isn't giving you the IPs
of their DNS servers in the handshake, so you'll need to rerun pppconfig and
tell it to use static DNS IPs, and give it the IPs of your ISPs nameservers.
