G'day again...

Thanks to George Vieira and Jamie Wilkinson for their answers.

However, I've still had no success. :(

I'm working from the release that came with "the advanced linux pocketbook".
The install is really fresh. 'pppconfig' has been used to configure the
connections, and pon/poff to connect/disconnect.

'route' things as expected, as does 'tail /var/log/messages' (including
primary and secondary nameservers listed.)

bind is installed. (No further configuration made.)

'ftp ftp.debian.org' results in:
ftp: ftp.debain.org: Host name lookup failure

What is going on? This is a fresh install. Have I inadvertedly deleted or
modified something I shouldn't? (Ie. should I try reinstalling?)

I'm under time pressure, as I'm doing the work for a non-profit
organisation, and their system is down whilst I'm doing the work.

Many thanks!

Michael.
