Not entirely correct, but almost.
The problem the OP had was that the IP addresses that were delivering to his
sendmail server would not reverse resolve via DNS. Although he didn't give
us info as to what 'certain network' it was, I'm assuming it was an internal
network.
So adding either IP address range or DNS entries to access.db with 'RELAY'
would not entirely allow this to work. Sendmail by default will refuse to
accept mail from servers that do not have a reverse DNS entry as this is a
SIGN of an open relay or such like. It is only a SIGN though - not a
definite and you can find that you turn away mail from legit sources if you
leave it enabled.
