I can explain why I sent the mail. Someone said a 486 might not be powerful enough for a firewall, you said your 486 does fine, it has a load average of 0. IMO that shows a lack of understanding. The box could be completely loaded down handling interrupts, and the load average could still be 0. But thats just my opinion, you have yours, which is different to mine, and thats fine.
