Maybe RH 7.2 can't do RAID on ext3? At least, that's what it sounds like when reading through http://redshed.net/pontification/linuxJournal.html and the section on ext3 failing with error 19.
Though it could also be read as the change to ext3 on a live system, is in fact *not* safe if you're running RAID. Maybe something is recording the wrong hard physical address for the kernel... Error 19, according to /usr/include/asm/errno.h is No such device. I may have to just go back to ext2 on / ... hang on, that can't be right. the kernel I'm running now is doing ext3 on / (I hadn't noticed, earlier - all I was really trying to achieve was to shift the big /home partition onto ext3, which *is* working fine under this older kernel built by Red Hat, and so far that matter is the root filesystem, /) Really puzzled now. Though at least I'm not the only one who's had this problem. Just wish I knew what I've done wrong that's making it happen. What is the /initrd directory for, anyway? luke -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User Group Mailing List - http://slug.org.au/ More Info: http://lists.slug.org.au/listinfo/slug
