It is your ISP, something that Iprimus uses causes trouble (at one/both ends) when compression negotation is enabled. Sometimes it dies gracefully (the compression turns off), other times the whole connection goes west.Different modems seem to behave differently. You need the noccp option in your pppd script, erm, in your providers script under /etc/ppp/peers I think. Cheers, Malcolm V.
