Three things to look at;
   1) aerial, if it is not big enough, you will not get enough signal
for colour. The size depends on where you are. I'm almost deep fringe
(50kms), so I use a full aerial outside on a pole. The T aerial (folded
dipole) is not sufficent in my case.

   2) tunings are out. You might need micro adjustments.

   3) aerial cable is faulty.

I have no idea about the nvidia.

Don't have one available currently.
try /usr/src/linux-2.4.2/Documentation/video4linux/bttv/Insmod-options
for the bttv options.

there are a couple of char lines

alias char-major-81 videodev
alias char-major-81-o bttv

You also need to insmode videodev, i2c???? (something) before the tuner,
which is before bttv

I have a somewhat dated page at
http://www.woa.com.au/linux/how-tos/webcaminstall.html
which talks about all this.

I believe you are supposed to enter the modeline for full screen mode,
but I never have as I don't use full screen.
