We had similar issues with Redhat machines and this "NETDEV WATCHDOG: ethX:
transmit timed out" errors, you probably shouldn't be running the "stock"
Kernel off RH 7.2 because it's far from perfect. I know someone with us got
rid of it by recompiling all stock 7.2 machines to a later Kernel.

I don't know too much regarding this area in Linux, but someone may be able
to verify that for me. I did notice this on a latter Kernel changelog: * Tue
Dec 18 2001 Michael K. Johnson  - Added watchdog patch.
