Hey all, I recently got asked about systems that allow streaming audio (music specifically) from a linux server. I've previously set up the RealMedia software, and it worked ok. I was using it for video streaming at the time. I was wondering what people's experiences have been with free streaming servers on linux? I guess it could also be a commercial product, but I'd prefer something free.
Shoutcast looks promising (thought not Free free). Will windows and mac clients need anything special to listen to the streams from such servers? TIA, James. -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group - http://slug.org.au/ More Info: http://lists.slug.org.au/listinfo/slug
