Hi! Dave,

My problem is I have a name server running on my box
Also I have 'Apache' running as my webserver.
I want my machine to allow connections from outside on port 8080
The stupid 'Firewall setup' program 'lokkit' does not allow me to change
this in RH 7.2 [ there is an outstanding bug on redhat 7.2 and 7.3 bug #66427
on this]

I tried to manually set /etc/sysconfig/ipchains to open up the port.
That does not seem to help.

I can live with no 'telnet' but I need to allow 'http' connections on port
8080.

Any ideas.? I am running out of optins.

thanks for your help,

P.S> Telent local host is atest I wanted to do.I opened up ftp and telnet by
creating the config files in /etc/xinit.d/ with 'disable=no' does not seem
to help.
