Having not 'rolled my own' for a whle, I'm gonna get 2.4.18 and while
I'm at it apply some of these performance type patches which are
around.

Anyone got a URL or otherwise for what the difference is between
pre-empt and low-latency patches? I know they are good, but should
I apply both, one or the other, or is there some other worthy patches.
Laymans explanation for what is pre-empt or low-latency??

The one caveat is that it hopefully doesn't break the XFS patches,
and possibly plays nicely with the 'laptop-mode' patches Jeff mentioned
a while ago... I guess it's a bit of 'suck it and see' with those
two.

cheers
Steve
