Small correction - I just did a bit more research, and found out that you
can get what are known as "SDLT" drives now with a capacity of 110/220 gig
{the second figure assumes perfect 2:1 compression - a not often
achievable figure}.
So you might get away without a changer - but for a 110/220Gb SDLT
external drive you're looking at $10500 or thereabouts, then you add the
fast/wide/differential SCSI card {prolly another $1000 or so for a good
one}, and tapes {around $150 a pop last time I looked}, and you can see
the kind of money you're looking at.
