just to butt in here for a bit.

i can see straight away that the address space that hops 1 & 2 are on is 
not in the domestic routing table. 

a quick check of telstra and optus confirms same. (planetmirror traffic to
you would also be going to the usa and back, 20 hops later .....)

this suggests either tpgi do not have domestic connectivity, or for some
reason have selected not to advertise those networks.
