Complicated images are an issue with OpenOffice.org. If they are OLE
rather than true images then the OLE picture is sometime crap and
therefore not OpenOffice.org's fault. I open documents with images all
the time and have not struck this problem, my documents are
deliberately simple though (like me :-})

Regarding the font issues, as far as I am aware there are no major font
issues.

Tables are another issue, very complicated tables can cause some
problems as well.

If you have any specific documents that fail reduce them to a small
subset (or even the whole thing) post them to me personally and I will
raise an issue on OpenOffice.org if you do not want to do it yourself.

PS:  Now with checkin status on OpenOffice.org :-}
