I make a lot of noise about the use of the list because I receive a lot of
email about it from subscribers who are either:

  a) disappointed by amount of irrelevant email
  b) discouraged by adversarial and argumentative threads ("Why do people
     flame so much?")
  c) too scared to post their questions because of (b)
  d) incredibly thankful for the help they've received from SLUGgers (it's
     not all bad, thankfully)

Rather than making unproductive comments about my role publically, you might
get a better response by discussing constructive criticism with myself or
the committee.

Or you could put your time where your mouth is, and take on the amount work
and responsibility involved in representing the SLUG membership by standing
for election at the next Annual General Meeting.

If you're not happy with the existence or rationale behind slug-chat,
perhaps you could have brought your concerns up way back when:
