Hi everyone,

My server set up nightmare continues... So far I have managed to install
Redhat 7.2 and update it. I could just cry!! (But I will succeed!... one
day)

Anyway, I figured the first service I would configure would be printer
server... easy huh? No way.

I have 2 lexmarks printers, an Optra LX+ laser printer and a z25 colour Inkjet
printer. I have downloaded and upacked the drivers. For the Inkjet, this
was a prettystraight forward install and it's happily plugged in as
/dev/usb/lp0.

The laser printer untarred a folder called "drivers-linux-glibc2-x86"... which
contained 2 rpms, which I installed. I thought the Optra LX would then
appear in the list "select driver" section of the printer set up... Nope!

2 questions...
1. How do I get Linux to use the downloaded driver (assuming I ever find
where it upacked to)

2. How do share them from the server end ?(I'm pretty confident about setting
up remote printers from the workstations) What do I need to tell my server
to make it a printer server?

Thanks

Mick
