I use CUPS (common unix printing system)for all my printing local and
Network.I would have thought CUPS was already installed with Red Hat
its been in Mandrake for ages.To launch the CUPS interface just run
print-cups.sh or in Mandrake printerdrake. You can configure your
printer type and the printer name if you want to also run cupsd so
you can print over a network.

Can CUPS print with samba.....yes just edit the samba.conf file and add
printing = cups *note Samba must be version 2.06 or better for it to
work with CUPS

CUPS is also cool it has authentication built in so you know the right
users have access the the right printer.

URL's http://www.cups.org

Hope this helps

To be honest CUPS is a total no brainer, I didn't have to install any
drivers for either my HP Laser or my Epson StylusII the drivers came
with the CUPS rpm.
