Guess that goes to prove the comments previously that all manufacturers tend to have 
'lemons' produced now and then.

I'll tend to agree with this, I've seen more Quantum pile up on my 'dud' desk than 
most. Of course, throwing in to the bias is the fact that they just don't even 
look/feel solid IMHO.

There's also their whole mean-usage-hours reduction in their testing/reliability 
specifications.

WD's tend to come in 2nd to Quantum for failure rate... of course, all this is purely 
speculation based on my own experiences.
