"Open Sources: Voices from the Open Source Revolution" would be my first
recommendation. It's a good, broad discussion of Free Software and Open
Source, from the people who made it happen:

These additional texts by ESR, mentioned in Open Sources, would also be
worthwhile covering (the first three are the most famous and relevant).
