Morning all
I am having trouble using gnome-terminal (RH8.0) when telnetting into a RH6.2 computer to run another application. The keys like page-up, page-down, and the arrow keys don't seem to want to work in some applications. $TERM is getting set to xterm. I tried insert & ^V in a vi session to see if the key codes where the same as the older xterms and there doesn't seem to be any difference.
Arrow keys work fine in a vi session when telnetted into the RH6.2 box but not in a particular RDMS application. I can't see what could be different about how the RH8.0 version of gnome-terminal and earlier versions are talking to the RDBMS if the key codes seem to be the same. I have tried rxvt and multi-gnome-terminal and it seems to work correctly however gnome-terminal provides nice user font control etc.
I am not sure what to try now. Any suggestions or pointers to doco that might help.
