If other modems are working fine when connected to the mgetty port, and this
mega imodem doesn't... then I suggest you configure the AT settings of the
modem to be that as the modems that work.

aka.. fire up a terminal package with good modem (minicom on linux,
hyperterminal on windows) and do an AT&v from the list presented... make note
of the active profile (print it). Now do same to imodem and this time, go make
the changes for anything that is different. Then save it AT&w.

Its possible someone might have configured this modem differently for another
application.. ie enabled auto answer and other stuff... or disabled such
stuff.. who knows without seeing its active configuration :)

Good luck.. mgetty works excellent, and I've used it many times... especially
with a old stallion brumby 8 and 4 modems :)
