Ahr, Homesite... I remember it fondly amongst the abject pain and horror of
web development on Windows platforms. :-) I also enjoyed EditPlus (in fact,
I used it under Wine for a while until I learnt vim sufficiently... I should
really force myself to learn Emacs someday).
I would recommend SciTE - the 'Scintilla Text Editor' - which originally
kicked off as a demo of Neil Hodgson's Scintilla source code editing widget.
It feels a bit like NEdit, but with a nice widget set. ;-)
Anyway, now it's a pretty spartan but kickarse editor, and Scintilla has
made its way into many GTK+/GNOME projects such as Anjuta. It's great stuff.
