[SLUG] how do i detect my modemn

Dear users,                 Could you please help me.I have installed both win 98 and Linux on the same hard drive and its working.The modem works ok with win 98.But in Linux it is not there.I have looked in the hardware browser program but it does not appear and the same if i use the internet connection wizard.Could you please help me.                                               yours hopefully                                                    john baird
