i have also recently joined the adsl throngs

i am using the Billion modem which is much raved about at
http://www.whirlpool.net.au/ and only costs $190 plus p&p altho i had to
mail order it in from Perth - a process that went completely smoothly.
Combined with my previously installed hub's uplink port it allows various
nodes on the LAN to access the net without needing to have any one box
running.

Altho I had also previously been with Zip from the day they opened I chose
Internode as a provider - they are getting a good rap at whirlpool and have
an innovative **flat rate** plan which nominally provides about 8gb of
download a month and is supposed to gracefully degrade its download speed if
you exceed those sort of limits. Going well but I have only been with them
for just over a month and only downloaded about 2gb in the first period.
Internode seem alert to their customers and the CEO is a frequent poster on
the Internode forum at whirlpool.
