The 333Mhz is plenty fast enough for X and KDE 3 but you need plenty of RAM
(at least 128MB)
I use XFCE (today - I like to change a bit) as my desktop and kmail for email
on my K6 II/500 (384MB RAM). Kmail is easy to use and fast and KDE 3 Gnome
2.0 and E work fine.
